How do I notify the DVLA about scrapping my vehicle?

The easiest way to notify the DVLA you’ve scrapped your vehicle is to visit their website and enter your 11-digit reference number found on your V5C logbook. If you haven’t got time, we can take care of the paperwork for you.

Can I keep my personalised number plate when I scrap my vehicle?

To keep your personalised number plate, you need to complete a V317 form found on the Gov.Uk website and apply through the DVLA.

How much is a scrap vehicle worth per tonne?

The value of a scrap vehicle per tonne will vary depending on the metals used to make your vehicle, supply and demand of certain materials, as well as changes in currency. Due to constant fluctuation, determining a fixed price per tonne is not possible.
